  1. Scott Cunningham is a good start. He has books on crystals and herbs. He also has a book called earth water air and fire (I think) and it’s very good for secular witches

  2. There is a newer book called The Witching Herbs by Harold Roth that seems like it might be an alright starting point for learning about the use of plants in witchcraft. He references a variety of different sources in his discussions of the plants he talks about, and included a bibliography in the back of the book. Though he does keep trying to categorize different plants and plant functions based on planetary correspondences; which I found distracting and a bit annoying after awhile.

You also might want to consider looking outside of the witchcraft oriented books on herbs. I am still a beginner when it comes to herbalism, but I have liked Medicinal Herbs A Beginner’s Guide by Rosemary Gladstar, Alchemy of Herbs by Rosalee De La Foret, and Midwest Medicinal Plants by Lisa M. Rose. These books were all pretty accessible and easy to find. Hope this helps!
